The heart of the Wausau School District Four-Year-Old Kindergarten Program is its strong developmentally appropriate curriculum delivered by caring, talented teachers specifically trained to teach young children. The experiential instruction prepares children for the opportunities and challenges of kindergarten and beyond. Our Early Childhood Program serves children between the ages of three and five years who exhibit developmental delays.
The District’s Four-Year-Old Kindergarten Program and associated 4K Collaboration Program provide integrated language, problem solving and decision making, and literacy instruction to four-year-olds throughout our community. Children are able to participate in these programs at the District's 4K Learning Academies located at Hawthorn Hills, G.D. Jones, Riverview, and Thomas Jefferson elementary schools, or at a variety of community partner childcare sites across the District.
